What's Good in Niagara? Michelle Biskup ready to lead River Lions into 10th season

Biskup has held multiple titles with the team since their first season

With the Niagara River Lions now just weeks away from starting their 10th anniversary season, there's a familiar face in a new role in their head office.

Last month, Michelle Biskup was named as President of the team after spending most of the last decade with the organization.

She says it's been quite the ride to this point, but seeing the team making progress in the community is exciting.

Biskup started with the River Lions during the first season as an Operations Coordinator, and has now held five different titles with the team from Public Relations Manager to President.

She says its an honour to be trusted by the team's ownership group in this role.

In the role of President, Biskup will oversee all aspects of the organization, including basketball and business operations, partnerships, and community initiatives.

Originally from Burlington, Michelle has called the Niagara Region home for over a decade. Her leadership and contributions to the local business community have been recognized with multiple accolades, including being named a Business Link Top 40 Under 40 recipient in 2021 and a Women in Business Young Professional Finalist by the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce in 2018.

Biskup says the message to other women in sports is simple: work hard.

The River Lions’ 10th anniversary season tips off May 16.
