Exemption announced yesterday by U.S. Customs
Automobile parts compliant with the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement on trade will not be hit with President Donald Trump's tariffs.
That guidance was released yesterday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
It's the latest sign of relief for the deeply integrated North American automobile industry, which has seen a number of multiple levels of tariffs.
Trump slapped a 25% tariff on all vehicle imports to the U.S. last month, but made an exception for the American-made parts of cars.
