NRPS issue warrant after man allegedly grabs 10-year-old girl at St. Catharines library

Police urge residents not to approach Frederick Pelchat if seen

Niagara Regional Police have identified a suspect in connection with an incident at the St. Catharines Public Library.

According to police, the incident occurred on April 19th at approximately 4:15 p.m., when a 10-year-old girl was reportedly grabbed by an unknown man inside the Church Street library. The man released the girl shortly after and left the scene.

Police have now issued a warrant for 40-year-old Frederick Joseph Pelchat, who is wanted for assault. Authorities are urging the public not to approach him and to contact police immediately if he is spotted.
