Applications are now open for the High School Model Parliament program

High school students interested in politics have a unique opportunity

Ontario high school students with an interest in politics and civic engagement have a chance to step into the shoes of a provincial legislator.

Applications are now open for the High School Model Parliament program at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, which runs February 25–27, 2026, in Toronto. Students in grades 10 to 12 can apply until October 5, 2025.

The program brings together young people from across the province for three days of workshops, presentations, and debates inside Queen’s Park. Participants take on the role of Members of Provincial Parliament, learning how parliament works while discussing real issues facing Ontario.

A virtual component begins in November 2025, giving students a chance to connect before meeting in person.

The experience offers a deeper understanding of Ontario’s parliamentary practices, and encourages students to see the value of democracy in action.
