Update: The boiling water advisory for the Village of Sweaburg Water Supply, including the 401 Eastbound Woodstock ONroute has ended as of August 29 at 1:05 p.m.
Southwestern Public Health has issued a boil water advisory for all users of the Village of Sweaburg Water Supply, including the Highway 401 eastbound Woodstock ONroute.
The advisory comes after water samples showed the presence of bacteria. Officials say residents and businesses affected have been notified by the County of Oxford and will also be informed once the advisory is lifted.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ninh Tran is urging residents to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before drinking, preparing food or infant formula, brushing teeth, washing produce, or making ice.
Southwestern Public Health says more details and safety tips are available on its website.
