Some notable changes are coming to roads in Oxford County
Oxford County Council has approved two new all-way stops this fall in East Zorra-Tavistock and Zorra Township as part of ongoing efforts to improve safety on rural roads.
One of the new stops will be installed at Oxford Road 33 and Oxford Road 60 (16th Line) in East Zorra-Tavistock. The county’s 2024 Transportation Master Plan flagged the intersection as a high-priority location, leading to a feasibility study earlier this year. Restricted sightlines and collision data supported the need for enhanced intersection control.
Upgrades at the site will include stop-ahead signs, flashing red beacons, rumble strips, new pavement markings, and intersection illumination in 2026.
A second all-way stop will be added at Oxford Road 6 and Oxford Road 28 in Zorra Township, following a third-party road safety audit. Similar improvements are planned, including flashing beacons and rumble strips.
Both projects are expected to be completed in early to mid-September.
