Despite more calls, paramedics nail response time targets
Oxford County Paramedic Services says it met its response time targets in 2024, even as emergency calls rose by more than eight per cent over the previous year.
A report going to county council on Wednesday shows paramedics handled 23,065 calls in 2024, up 8.5 per cent from 2023. Officials note that rising population growth across the county could challenge provincial targets for acute emergency calls in the years ahead.
The addition of ambulance hours in Woodstock was credited with helping improve response times this year.
